12月22日我從無錫乘一架小型飛機來到了遵義，遵義在我心中不是一座城市，遵義就是我童年的故鄉。當年紅軍被迫進行了艱難困苦的二萬五千里長征，他們到了遵義就轉危為安了。因為1935年的遵義會議挽救了黨，挽救了中國革命。遵義這座小城在中國歷史上意義非凡。很久很久以前，父親在中國水電八局工作。工作地點就是在遵義旁邊50公里之外的烏江。這是一個山清水秀的小鎮，有近五萬人居住在這里，因為他們要為新中國修建建國后第一座石灰巖水電站。兩歲那年，鄰居小朋友劃傷了我的眼睛，父親緊急送我去了遵義醫科大學附屬醫院。我夜夜啼哭，父親在老城為我買了遵義蛋糕，這讓我心生安慰。我到達遵義的那天是個清晨，我記得天色很早，街上有賣蛋糕的，蛋糕裝在搪瓷盆子里賣，碼得整整齊齊，父親買的蛋糕是用牛皮紙包起來的。這個深夜我靜靜地掉下了我的眼淚。父親這一生實在太苦了。這個世界上對我最好最好的人，我今生今世卻無能報答他。2020年9月12日是我人生第二次去遵義醫科大學附屬醫院。我是去工作的。該院脊柱外科敖主任帶我去見了余院長，我告訴了余院長這個特別的故事。在我一生之中我永遠無法忘卻這家醫院，是他們拯救了我的眼睛。改變了我的一生，才讓我有了這個世界上最好的工作。我的這份工作可以讓他們與這個世界上的關鍵學術領袖面對面討論學術難題。醫院現有神經內科、燒傷整形外科、消化內科、麻醉科、臨床護理、兒科等9個國家臨床重點專科，在這五年間還培養了七位臨床醫學MD博士。共有四位醫生獲得了國家公派留學CSC獎學金。脊柱外科的王翀團隊也成為了黔北地區最先開展脊柱腫瘤治療的科室。如果中國每一家醫院都可以像遵義醫科大學附屬醫院的余院長和魏院長這樣對人才的雄心。中國每一家醫院的學科建設就一定可以長足發展。當今中國醫院困難重重。DRG收費再一次把科室與醫生推入風口浪尖之上。現在只有人才才可以成就一家偉大的醫院。我每一次來到遵義，每一次看見院長和科主任都有說不出的本分和善良。他們就是未來中國醫院的希望。

On December 22, I took a small plane from Wuxi to Zunyi. In my heart, Zunyi is not only a city, but the hometown of my childhood. In those days, the Red Army was forced to undertake the arduous 25,000-li Long March. When they reached Zunyi, they turned the corner and were out of danger. Because the Zunyi Conference held in 1935 saved the Party and acted as the turning point in the Chinese revolution. The small city of Zunyi holds extraordinary significance in Chinese history. A long time ago, my father worked at the Sinohydro Engineering Bureau 8. The workplace was located next to the Wu River, which was 50 km from Zunyi. It was a small town surrounded with beautiful mountains and clear waters. Nearly 50,000 people lived here because they were  building the first limestone hydropower station after the founding of the new China. When I was two years old, one of my eyes was scratched by a neighbor’s child. My father immediately took me to the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University. I cried every night. My father bought me a Zunyi Egg Cake in the old town to comfort me. I remembered that I arrived in Zunyi in an early morning, there were people selling cakes on the street. The cakes were put in enamel basins and neatly arranged. The one my father bought was wrapped with kraft paper. At this late night my tears dropped in silence. My father had endured a lifetime of hardship. He was the kindest person in this world to me, and one I can never repay. On September 12, 2020, I visited the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University for the second time of my life. Prof. Ao, the Director of the Department of Spine Surgery, introduced me to Prof. Yu, President of the hospital. I told Prof. Yu this special story. In my life, I will never forget this hospital. It was they who saved my eyesight and changed my life. Because of them, I was able to have the best job in the world. This job allows me to bring them together to have face to face discussions on academic challenges with the key academic leaders from around the world. The hospital now has 9 National Key Clinical Specialties, including Neurology, Burn and Plastic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Anesthesiology, Clinical Nursing and Pediatrics. Over the past five years, the hospital supported seven doctors for their MD studies in Germany, and four of them were granted the CSC Scholarship. The team led by WANG Chong from the Department of Spine Surgery has also become the first department in northern Guizhou to provide the treatment for spinal tumors. If every hospital in China could have the same ambition for talent training as President Yu and President Wei from the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University, the specialty construction of every hospital in China would surely achieve considerable progress. Chinese hospitals are facing numerous difficulties. The DRG payment system has once again pushed the departments and doctors to the forefront of public attention. Nowadays, only talents can build a great hospital. Every time I went to Zunyi, I could see the dutifulness and kindness in the presidents and the directors of the departments. Such people are the hope of the hospitals in China.
